My 05 TSX has been in the shop for a week now
They've had my new car longer than I have. But I told them to keep it as long as they have to in order to fix the several rattles its got. It has the sunroof rattle, dashboard rattle and passenger door rattle. They told me today that they are ordering a part for the dashboard rattle and it's on back order. At least it seems like the technicians there are trying to fix everything the best they can. But damn I miss my car. In the meantime I'm driving this RSX loaner to the ground

Should I be annoyed and have them comp me something for this inconvenience? I mean a brand new car and it goes into the shop for over a week +.
Or should I be content they are fixing it?

Ummm it aint fixed yet.. and it is their job to fix it. You paid a handsome sum for that vehicle and it should have been in new condition. I would be screaming bloody murder.

yeah, i'd be throwing a big tantrum like candy stolen from a baby!
see if you can squeeze some accessories or free oil changes outta them...more the better, since you ONLY had it for couple of days

Jojo77,
How long did it take for all those rattles to start? I've had my 05 TSX for about 2 weeks now, and am getting a little paranoid on every little interior noise I hear.

Wow, you're kidding me, you mean the rattle problem is still there? This is amazing. But to be honest, I would never know if my car rattles because I always have my stereo up to the point that you don't hear rattles.

All rattles are fixable by Acura except for the Windshield Creak which is being researched by Acura now.

More Squeaks Then a Room Full of Mice and Rocking Chairs...
Ok, is it just me or have Acura kinda screwed up with the TSX? It would appear that most, if not all, suffer some kind of rattle, squeak or other annoying noise. My 04 has spent more time in the dealer workshop, then on the road with me.
A suggestion:
All the TSX owners who have non-TSB repaired rattles and squeaks shoud post the exact nature of the repair for others to use with their dealers.
Just my 2 pence worth...

Not an Ashtray
I have 20,000 miles on mine. It has been pretty much rattle free. I've had the annoyances with squeaky rubber, but that is easily fixed with a little vinylex or NXT Protectant. This is the most rattle free, solid vehicle I've ever owned.

If these are all fixable, then why didn't Honda just build the car with the newer redesigned replacement parts already installed on the car? That way, they wont have to produce new parts to switch out.

I had my car in for a rattle in the center console and they had it about 70 days. I tried everything I could to get a new car or something out of them and all they gave me was two free oil changes. They said because it was a rattle they could not give me a new car or even trade it in for the same car... but the only good thing out of it was that the rattle was fixed and less miles on my car for not having it over two months... hope everything works out.

Wow. 70 days... ![Yikes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/yikes.gif)
I have 2 rattles right now and have had the car since Saturday. The windshield rattle which is slowly becoming more prevalent, and the speaker rattle on certain base notes. Have an appointment in a couple weeks.

I haven't had any rattles in my car and just an occasional sunroof creak when going over bumps that twist the car. All in all, a very quiet car.......

Windsheild or Dash Creak
My '94 TSX now has nearly 10,000 miles on the clock, and there have been no rattles whatsoever. There is however a very annoying creak coming from the passenger side dash area. It could be the oft-reported windshield creak, but I rather suspect a problem with contact between the passenger side dash and the a-pillar. On inspection I noticed that the driver's side dash is spaced slightly away from the a-pillar (1/32-1/16 inch) while the passenger side is butted up in contact with the a-pillar (no gap). A few hand maneuvers seem to produce some semblance of the annoying creak...not sure, but my hunch is that a bit of lubrication between the offending surfaces might eliminate the creaking sound. My initial reaction is to spray a bit of silicon in between the two surfaces, but I'm somewhat afraid of discoloration and/or other adverse reactions. Has anyone identified this same problem and/or tried a similar solution. Any other suggestions?
