I don't know why this is happening but any advice would help. Everytime i start my car the maintanance light comes on and blinks about 10 times or so and turns off completely. Is this normal?

 

This is normal. Check the manual. It will tell you how to clear this.

 

is it time to change your oil? are you near a major maintenance mileage? not sure, have you contacted your dealer about it?

 

I just got an oil change. I just hit the 30,000 mileage mark and from what I feel when driving and looking into the engine bay, everything feels and drives fine. I baby my car so not sure what possibly could be wrong.

 

If you had your 30K maintenance done already then whoever did it forgot to reset the maintenance light. If you haven't had it done yet, go do it and the mechanic will reset it for you when done. There is a thread on how to reset it yourself. Search for "maintenance" in thread titles.
