I just took my 2006 TSX in for an oil change at 9500 miles with the maintenance minder saying 50% for oil life. This was done at a Honda dealer rather than Acura. The dealer reset the minder so that it reads 100%.

My question is does this reset screw up the computers' mind so it won't know when to tell me for a major maintenance (B1 I think)? The dealer wanted to do a "10,000 service".

Any suggestions?

 

The maintenance minder said 50% at 9,500 miles? That's some pretty good oil life there. Basically, your car is telling you that you can go nearly 18,000 miles without really needing an oil change?

 

Oops. I forgot to say that the first oil change was at 5300 miles at the Acura dealer. The 9500 miles was the second.
