my maintance required light is on. and i was wondering if i can just take it to any shop to fix that problem. i read in the owners manual that its because i hit the 10,000 miles mark. also my airbag light is on. im curious how to fix these two problems. thanks!

 

is it a check engine light?
if you head to an auto parts store, you can get the code read.
they hook up an OBDII reader and it will tell you why the check engine light is on

Though you don't specify, I'll assume your car is an 04 or an 05 (the only ones that have a maintenance required light (that later models have the MM). Your light on because it's been around 10K miles since it was last reset (also hopefully the required maintenance was performed then). And though it should come as no surprise, we can also assume that the car needs maintenance (umm.... that's what the light is for). Of course whether or not you have the car serviced is up to you, but if you want to reset the maintenance light, the procedure is in the owner's manual. Can't help you with the air bag light. May be a bad seat sensor, or if the car was in an accident at one time, it could be any one or more of a number of things.
