Look what I got in the mail: TSX Product Update for moisture in Headlights

Nice... I am so happy this came in the mail because I was going to go there soon and complain because there is dust in the headlight and it looks nasty. I had moisture once and only once but the dust makes the HIDs look like crap. They are going to replace the old ones with new headlights that have the moisture problem fixed. Got to love Acura. Take a look, scanned for your viewing pleasure.

Me too, bringing in the car on Monday.

I wonder if they are gonna put new one's in or just goop up the old one's?

Clips? Damn, I was hoping for new headlights as mine have a couple of chips in them from the damn salt on the roads in the winter.

May!!I just got it in the mail 2 days ago... I called up and made an appointment with open road acura and they said that if there is no visible proof the the headlights had moisture in them then they will only put clamps on them. If there is visible moisture and or dirt on the inside then they will replace it. I made a big deal about the dust and I am sure they will give me the new updated headlights. They are built different. And I was trying to get an appointment at DCH Montclair Acura where I bought the car but they are fucking IDIOTS over there. Dont ever go there unless you want your car to have more problems then when it came in. They scratched the whole seat and tried to blame it on me when I first bought the car and they were putting lojack in, they replaced all the carpet and changed the whole sunroof drain because I got a puddle in the back seat eventhough I told them I thought it was the ac drain. I came back with the same problem 2 days after and they had to replace the carpet and the ac drain pipe like I said origianlly, They ripped up the console with a screw driver when replacing the carpet and many other parts of the car. many more things I dont feel like typing. Anyway sorry for the rant but the service department is horrible and the funny thing is they said they dont have me in the system when I gave them my number!!! O well sorry once again and the moral of the story is dont go to DCH Montclair Acura and bitch and you will get the updated lights. I will let you know how open road is.

I am going tomorrow for the replacement and I will let you guys know what happens. I think I will get the new head lights and they will finally be dust free! I hate the way they look with that dust. Does anyone know how it gets in there?

relik....I have had 2 years of very good experiences with Precision Acura on Rt. 1 in Lawrenceville/Princeton in case you are looking for another dealership. I'll be doing my 40k service with them in about 1000 miles and will do the headlight thing also. Mine are fine right now, but I did have one replaced when I bought the car, due to moisture.

Well I am going to try open road acura on 23 and if they are bad I will try them. I hate DCH Montclair acura, they always break something in my car when I bring it in to get serviced. Plus their service team is so stupid it is rediculous. I can't deal with them. I gave them many chances. Its funny because they sponsor this forum. SOOOOOO bad.

Well I just came back from Open road acura on rt 23 and they put the clips on and lowered the hood. I really wanted them to change the lights but I understand when they said that since there was no water in there they could not change it. He said if I ever get condensation again, bring it in so they can see it and they will replace it. I have to admit that the lowered hood looks really nice. It fits tight and looks sleek now. I hope I don't have a problem from now on but at least they said to bring it back. This acura dealer has Valet parking for the service department! I fucking love this place and I will be going there from now on. I dealt with Bruce in service and it was smooth and he was very helpfull. O yeah, they also have a car wash on premisis and they wash the car and do the mats after the service.

I don't Know, just call up the Acura dealer and they will tell you. I think the 06 and up headlight is different so I am sure they updated it already.

Has anyone brought this in on a weekend? One of the dealers I called said that they only have the technician there on "weekdays." WTF?

most dealers seem to be like that-limited staff on the weekend.they usually do only oil changes and very minor jobs. (especially the ones that are only open until noon-1pm on saturday. try to see if you can get a loaner car.

Acura is about 4 years late on this recall. I had to take mine in back in 2003 for water getting into my headlight assembly. Here is my original post with pic...

while the service department was replacing the headlight they noticed both of the foglights have cracks in them. They are replacing both of them for me free. Not bad

Well, if only one had moisture in it, then there's only a problem with that one. No need to replace both if the other is fine. I also had just one replaced 2 years ago, and the other never had a problem. Now they both have the clips.

Why did they lower your hood? Was it because of the clips?

I'm getting one headlight replaced tommerow, and getting clips. Are they going to lower my hood also?

I think so, to me it looks like they lowered the hood so the water would not get in as easy.
