locked out of nav system/screen!

Please let me know if anyone has experienced this or can help ...

I have a new 2006 with nav. Today I made the drive up the I5 from LA to SF, where I live during the school year, and I set the nav to go "home" (my SF address). Everything was fine until I stopped for gas, and when I started up the car again, the nav displayed a PIN entry screen instead of the map that I expected. I had never entered a PIN for my personal information or otherwise, and nothing I tried could unlock the system. I even attempted to enter the radio unlock code and that didn't work either.

The screen is now stuck on the PIN entry mode, and I can't use it to display audio or AC information.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Is this a software bug?

I would call Acura service first of all. They can tell you what is going on.

No idea otherwise.

No need to panic, I went throught the same thing last week. Inside your glovebox you will find a card with a PIN #. this card is what was used when the car was programmed when off the boat...Type in that PIN and you should be ok...

hope this helps

You may be able to disconnet the battery for atleast 30 seconds and try it from there.

disconnecting the battery will cause the PIN screen to display
the car should have come with a card with the navi code on it
if you dont have it, the code is written in the trunk somewhere

all u have to do is enter it and ur set

There is also a sticker in the glove box, I believe above and inside. I took mine off a long time ago.
