loaner car?

did you guys get a loaner car when you sent your car in to get all the rattles fixed?

my navi lags on start-up sometimes too...as well as the tranny 'clunk' when going into 'Drive' from 'Reverse"

anybody else have these problems?

hey -

i've always gotten a loaner car, and my car has been in the shop about 10 times for various things. the only one time they didn't have one, they got me a rental. i even got one once just for an oil change. the dealership rocks in customer service, i'm just frustrated that they can't fix stuff. it seems there's always something else that goes wrong, but that's what we get for buying first year model, huh?

as for the nav lagging, i think that's normal...i mean mine takes a while befoe i can push the button to start it.

i hear a clunking noise when i first drive off after shifting from reverse to drive as well--they tell me this is normal, something about the abs?

i doubt the clunk is ABS...it's the gears going from R to D...it really shouldn't clunk as it should go in smooothlyl but oh well =)

I'm just frustrated that they won't give me a loaner to fix the damn rattles....they wanted a full day to fix it and i can't just skip work and wait for them to fix my 1 month old car =(

seems like everyone has rattling problems...i hope they come up with a fix soon...

Abouit Loaner Cars

If you bought car from Dealer X and has (warranty) service done at Dealer Y
Shoould you expect dealer Y to provide loaner ?

Basically should dealer provide loaners to customers who did NOT buy car from them ?

I bought my car from Ed Voyles here in Atlanta and I take it back there for everything. If I just get an oil change done, then I don't get a loaner. The one time I took my car in for the 15k maintenance, they kind of forgot about it and had to give me a loaner for the night. It was a 2003 TL Type S.

I just took my car in yesterday for the 30k maintenance and some warranty stuff (one of which is the rattles that they had to order parts on). They gave me a 2004 TL as a loaner. I have had it since yesterday morning. I always ask for a loaner now, and I seem to get a loaner if I am paying for something, but if it is just warranty work (and stuff that won't take them long to do) then they normally will give me the run around. If you press them enough though, they should provide you one if you bought the car from them and have taken it in to them before for various things (i.e. spent money at their service department).

Why not? Dealers don't provide the warranty, Acura (or American Honda) does. Dealers don't pay for all the warranty services either, American Honda does. Dealers just perform the services and they'll claim that from American Honda. If Dealer Y refuses to give you loaner for warranty service, report to American Honda.

I bought my Integra from Sierra Acura, I took it to Acura of Pasadena for warranty work (A/C wasn't cold at all), and they gave me another Integra as a loaner.

I bought my TSX from Weir Canyon Acura, I took it to Thomas Acura couple weeks ago for warranty work (car won't start......turned out that it was due to the aftermarket security system), and they gave me an 04 TL as a loaner.

My Loaner

I had to return to the dealer to get some options installed. They provided me with a 2004 TL for over night use. They had about 6 TL loaners....
