Keyed across the trunk, best fix? [pic]
After having my TSX for only three months, some heartless soul keyed the top of my trunk.
Assuming I don't want to report it to insurance, is there any product or method you would recommend. Although it looks bad, the scratch isn't too deep and I still have faith it can be fixed without being repainted.
I've tried some McGuire's Scratch-X and basic Turtle Wax rubbing compound and it did help some (the pic above was before I did this), but it's got some ways to go.
Has anyone tried the Zaino "Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover" (link )? Are there better products or more heavy-duty stuff?
Thanks for any advice.
TSX go cry cry. ;__;

Wow, you must of pissed somebody off!!! The scratch looks pretty deep. I would recommend asking the "stealership" for a reputable body/paint shop, and hopefully they can break you off a great deal. Sorry about your misfortune, freakin haters in the world!!!

If you can pick at it with your fingernail, its just too deep and no amount of polishing will get it out. I'd like to see after pics though.
You may want to try Optimum compound polish applied with a random orbit polisher and an orange Sonus pad. Though if you dont have any of this stuff, it will probably cost you just as much to take it to a pro...So, up to you.

Go to the wash and wax forum and find some tips and tricks.
As joerockt said see if your fingernail catches in the scratch. If it doesn't then that's good news. If it does then I would take it to a detailing shop and have them take care of it. With enough time/money you can fix anything.
For deep paint scratches (I had a couple I fixed) I took the factory paint touch up and sharpened out a toothpick to a fine needle point. I dab it a little bit at a time till I cover it up and I buff it out as I go to smooth it over. You have to do this several times, once a day (or enough time to have it dry) to get it at a good level where you can use a abrasive compound and work your way up to a showcar finish.
Not everyone might do it that way but it has worked for me

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the responses.
I'll take another pic this weekend after I put some more Scratch-X on it.
Around how much am I looking at if I take it to a professional? ~$100?
