key stuck in ignition!

After a long trip from atlanta to tallahassee (4 hours), my navi stopped working properly after 3 hours, and when i got home, my key got stuck in the ignition. I had to turn off the engine, turn it back on, reverse, drive, then turn off the engine again for it to release the key. Has anyone experienced this before?

I used to have a similar problem in my civic. I had to take the car out of park and then put it back into park. For some reason I guess it didn't completely shift into park.

I had this same problem occasionally with my 2000 V6 Accord Coupe. Sometimes you can get away with just kinda shaking the automatic shifter while in park.

There is a button that has to be pressed in when the car is put into park to allow the key to come out. Sometimes that switch goes bad, or gets puched back somehow that it will not get pressed in all of the way when you park. Your dealer should be able to easily fix something like this.

I brought it to the dealer today, they said that it could've been a glitch, or if i was in a hurry getting the key out it wouldn't let me. But if it happens again and i'm not in a hurry then bring it back to them and have them look at it. They gave me a free car wash (maybe the dude noticed how dirty my car was). So i'm happy. =) I love my Acura Dealer.

There's a paragraph about this in the manual so it's obviously something that Acura knows about.
