Intermittant parking / marker light

Hi everyone!

First let me start off by saying I lurked on this forum for a while before purchasing my new car. I test drove an 07 Mazda 6s, 07 Nissan Altima (both 4 and 6 cyl), and an 06 TSX. Needless to say, I bought the TSX a week ago and couldn't be happier.

The problem I've been having is kind of intermittant. The parking light (or marker light) on the passenger side is usually out, but occasionally (maybe 5% of the times I look) works. If I have the lights on and the parking light is out, and I go tap on the plastic, the light comes on every time. After I drive around a bit, it will be out again.

I turned the wheel and went underneath and pulled out the light, and the bulb appeared to be loose, so I pushed it back in. The light then worked flawlessly for a few days.

Now it's back to intermittant again. So my suspicion is that no matter how many times I push the bulb back in, it's just going to come out after a few days. I would think that possibly the connector/socket is slightly out of spec and doesn't hold the bulb as tight as it's supposed to. But possibly the bulb is out of spec and just a little thin?

Do you guys think I should try replacing the bulb first or just call the dealer and have them look at it? I don't want to be the laughingstock of the service department when I bring my car in and they change the light bulb and it works Plus I don't think I'd ever let myself live that one down!

Call the dealer. It's new. If it is the bulb's fault, they should replace the bulb for you.
