Ignition light question?

Last night I noticed that the blue light that surrounds the ignition (where the key fits to start the car) was not on. I didn't think much about it because the headlights were off but now I'm thinking that it should have been lit because I had just gotten in the car. So the question is, when does this light turn on/off and is mine busted?

I was afraid of that. Now I have a dilema. Its really no big deal and my car has no rattles. Do I take it in (its under warranty) to have it fixed, let them take stuff apart while replacing whatever they need to replace, and risk getting a rattle or do I just ignore it. What to do, what to do?

I'd get it fixed because it's still under warranty.

I don't think this is the case, but....did you have your keys in at that time? I think it turns off after you insert the key.

You should have paid for the O.G Green ring option. Then you'd be uber-elite.

No, in fact, that is how I realized that it wasn't on. It was dark and rather than groping with the key to find the slot I actually looked for it (don't want to scratch anything up).

Maybe I can have them change the color when I get it fixed.
