I hit a pole and dented my trunk..
I have an 05 tsx and I hit a pole today and it did little damage, but it did dent my trunk. Where the side panel meets the trunk it's dented and was wondering the price range to fix it. I don't want to go through insurance because I just fixed the car through them. Paint was scarped off, but just worried about the trunk. Thanks.
I think it would be easier for people to know how much damage there is exactly if you post pictures.
You can probably just buy a new trunk, and from my some of my friends experiences, getting it painted is going to be the most expensive part (if you go to a quality shop)

Well I hadn't got a picture yet, But here's a link.. the damage isn't crazy, I figured the paint job would be the worst part, I don't know if I'm going to repair or just keep it that way for awhile
lol, when I first opened the thread, I also thought he had hit a pot hole. It turns out our eyes were playing tricks on us. OP actually hit a pole (I guess we inserted tho into pole and got pothole).

Crap, expensive? I don't need expensive..I don't like going through my insurance because they just fixed the car and said it was $10,000+ in repair and they replaced the engine and shit, but I don't see major changes, especially if I was hit on the side.
my car just got hit, and it doesnt look terrible, but its 5k worth of damage between paint and parts:/ what i would worry about if you dont have the cash is to protect that bare metal so it doesnt rust, even if you just sand it down and spray paint it
I agree.... that's gonna be expensive. And by the way, if it hasn't rained yet, lookout cause I bet you'll have a pretty good leak there into the trunk too. I also would be inclined to leave it, but the leak may get ugly.
Threadjack here, but, my father was coming home from the airport, in his low-mileage 30th anniversary 911 C4, and not really trying to go fast...his mistake, or he would have hit the gas mid-corner and been gone. He hit some sand on a highway off-ramp, looped the car, and the tail clipped a lamp post. The lamp post started to teater, then fell, but missed the car.
But then there was smoke, and then fire, and the Porsche was gone. The insurance company gave him twice what he paid for the car: he was ALWAYS doing things like that!
