Hi. Like the title says, how do I remove the Comptech short shifter. I know how to get to it but how do I take it off the shaft with the loctite applied? Anyone knows? Anyone did it? Thanks.

 

That green loctite isn't a weld, but you may have to remove the entire shifter assemble out of the car. You could use a small torch to head it up, but be careful not to heat it too much or you'll mess the lever. Obviously you'll take off the shift ball cap.

 

In other fields (aviation) where you can not mess with the temper of materials, we would use dry ice to make the Loctite brittle. Might let you do this "in situe" in lieu of having to remove the whole assy. Worth a try
