well to make this quick. i want to buy a Impact Wrench and a very cheap one but some of them have different ft-lbs of torque. how many ft-lbs of torque would the wrench need to take the wheels off the tsx and what lug nut size? thanks in advance
To do it properly, you shouldn't ever need an impact. 80 ft/lbs of torque is easy to break and that's where your nuts should be set if you put them on correctly last time. If you went to Walmart and let those idiots put your wheels on, they're way too tight and you'll have to work harder to get them off.
To answer your question directly, you'll need 81 ft/lbs of torque to get off properly tightened nuts, which I'd bet any impact can handle since I can do more than that with one hand. Lug nut size? Umm, I'm not sure.
