while idling the hood rattles like crazy when the electric fan kicks on... it drives me nuts, and as far as i know it has always done it. if i get out and push on the front of the hood (not even hard) it stops. is there any adjustment in the hood to prevent this?

There are 2 little rubber "stoppers" that stick up from your car that press into the hood when the hood is down. These stoppers twist up and down, thats how u adjust how tight you want the hood pressed against them. It should stop the rattling, I had to do this is also.

 

They don't need much of a turn (counterclockwise) to alter the position of the hood. I'd start with a 1/3 turn on each, then close the hood and check the alignment of the front corners to ensure it doesn't stick up too much. Then check the vibration. You can also simulate the vibration by just grabbing the front of the hood and seeing if there's any play up/down. If so, it'll vibrate, so adjust the stoppers (equally) again and repeat the test.
