Hey guys

i just noticed this after getting my car back after its first service. its been a while since ive revved my car so i thought id take it up near the redline. i first noticed this in second gear...after i reached about 5-6k rpm im getting some noise which sounds like its coming from under the center consol/shift knob area. tried it in 3rd as well, and im getting the same noise.

has anyone else had this problem?

Did you have any service done that would require the center console to come out? Is it a metallic or plastic buzzing or an electronic buzzing?

 

all i had them do during the service was the oil change, look at the glove box rattle and the rear deck creaking sound.

the sound seems more like a metalic buzzing...almost like a grinding sound.

im really hoping its not the tranny.

 

I seriously doubt it is the tranny as that sound would be coming from the footwell since the tranny is up front. I'm guessing they took something apart looking for the noise and have just simply not tightened something or moved it just enough. I have a similar noise and believe it is my SHOND3 box, but this isn't obviously a solution for you.

 

they did say they opened up the passenger door for some other rattle that they noticed, but im pretty sure the sound is not coming from there.

i guess ill just take it back to the dealer and see what they can find. hope its nothing serious.

ill take everything out of the cabin and check it out again on the way home tonight.
