HELP...something wrong with the gas sensor??

Hi guys,

Today my tsx went low on gas (the light went up then I drive less than 10km to the nearest gas station) and fill it up with ~$10. What happen is when I start up the car, the needle in the panel went up to the top which mean filled up. However, I just fill in ~$10 only. It's impossible !! I tried to turn off the car and restart it several time already.
Anyone know what happen??
Anyway to fix it, does that happen to some of you before as well??
I know this is a rare case.
Is the warranty cover on repair that?

thanks guys!

Where was the needle when the light went on before you filled it up?

This has never happened to me, but take in to the dealership. It should be covered under warranty.

The light usually goes on when there's approximately 5 gallons remaining.

So, unless $10 could buy you 12 gallons of gas, it shouldn't be on the top, so there's definitely something wrong with your car.

Take it to the dealer and have them inspect it.

The needle position down before fill up, and the light that indicate to fill up was on for less than 10km

Try taking it to the gas station again and see how much you can fill it before it cuts off. I think this makes some sense?

Then I would take to a dealership and have them look at it. Could be the sensor or the needle is off.

I went to dealer today, they inspect everything and nth wrong with it.
they order a part from japan and it takes 1 to 2 weeks to get that part and try fix it for me.
In the meantime, they asked me to keep on driving the car right now to see how far I can drive with the current tank of gas. So I would like to ask what will happen if my car run out of gas and the light didn't show me. Will this do any damage to the car? Thanks!!

Your TSX is under the TLC program from Acura. Which also covers you if/when you run out of gas.
