Help me identify head cover bolt! Thanks in advance
Can someone identify the bolt circled in red. I tightened it too hard and it snapped off. Right now its just glued on with honda bond =(. I hope nothing leaks until I get it replaced. I need to know the part where the nut screws in to and is it hard to replace?
Can someone post a link from acuraoemparts with part number. Thank you in adavance.

These bolts penetrate the valve train and removal may require loosening/retightening the entire valve train. To replace only that bolt risks some unusual spring forces on the camshaft which could result in camshaft failure.
Options:
1)Take your chances, remove the head cover and remove/replace the single bolt. Note, a torque wrench is essential to install this bolt.
2) Loosen the entire valve train, replace the broken bolt, and retighten the entire valve train. There is a procedure in the shop manual for the tightening sequence.
3) Remove valve cover and weld a threaded stud extension to the existing broken bolt end. A good welder can do this job. It will cost less than 2), but more than 1) I would suspect.
4) Do nothing. The loss of one hold-down nut may not cause any leakage.
Only attempt 2) if you are comfortable w/ the procedure. It may be better to pay for some professional help.
For future reference, this cap nut should only be snugged to perhaps 8-10 ft-lbs (spec is 8.7 ft-lbs or 104 in-lbs).
A shop manual is essential for diy, suggest considering an emanual from automanualsource.com and also same vendor on ebay.
good luck

Yea I am probably going just leave it if it isn't going to cause any leakage. Down the line I might just try to replace it. I don't want to do anything with the valve train. Thanks for the quick reply TexasHonda.
BTW - has anyone replaced the bolt without taking apart the valve train and what was the outcome. Thanks.
