Help! Code 2138 - TPS Sensor
I was driving the other day when my indicator lamp turned on. I took it to Autozone today and got it checked out. I wrote down the one code that came up:
P2138 - TPS/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch D/E Voltage Correlation
The autozone guy said it is probably the TPS sensor going bad. Any idea how hard it is to replace this and if it is something that I want to tackle? I've done basics before...I/H/E and some suspension work. I'd say I am a 5 on a lvl of 10.
Any help is appreciated - thanks!

bad idea listening to auto zone guy for tech advise. usually one of three things, weak battery, poor connection or failed connection to or from sensor or pcm/ecm software failure.
if withing 8/84k this issue (except weak battery) is covered under federal emmissions warranty including software update to pcm/ecu.

Just got back from the dealer. He said that because the light turned off, it should be ok for now. I have a feeling it will come back up soon and he said it could be as simple as a software update for pcm/ecu.
However, he says I would have to bring it in for $110 diagnostic in order to figure out what is really wrong w/ it. And that I have to have the code on when I bring it in. Is there any way around the $110 diagnostic thing? I don't want to pay that, then have them tell me it's the $500 throttle body that has to be replaced...

tell them you promise to give them a 100% on the e-survey and "10" rating on the phone survey that you get from acura and they will usually waive it.
