Help! Cable Reel cover popped off

Help! Cable Reel cover popped off

Was trying to straighten out my new 06 steering wheel today and I accidently popped the cover off of the cable reel under the steering.. It says that I need to check the Service manual on what to do. Does anyone happen to have one that they can give me advice from or scan?

I'm right in the middle of trying to fix this, so any immediate help would be great. Thanks!

if you popped the cover to the real off and try to put it back together good luck cause my wire came out too and i couldnt get it coiled back up and had to buy a new one. they are like $100.

Actually, I got it fixed. Yeah J, it sucked trying to wind it back up but I eventually figured it out. Also per the Honda Install instructions. I turned it all the way clockwise and 2 full turns counterclockwise to line it back up. Went for a test drive and everything is fine now. Phew...dang that was scary...haha

The big thing is the Airbag light comes on and disappears after 6 seconds like it should.

glad you got it to work. I am still scared to hook my airbag up from another car so I am driving around without airbags right now cause I am scared if I plug the new one it that it might deploy randomly being from a different car even though the connectors are different.

New wheels, as in, you're moving on from the Advans? Or new wheel as in, steering wheel?

Either way, great mod - I had a loaner 07 and LOVED the wheel. Some day I want to do this swap myself.
