Don't stress!
This happens to me too. It took me a few times to figure it out, but after a fillup the computer resets itself you know? Well, it uses your last A-MPG reading to determine how far you approx be able to drive with that full tank. When you just put the 10 dollars in, it should've reset itself, and being that you only put ten dollars in, I'm guessing maybe you only did city driving (mainly) causing a lower MPG. So when you filled up just recentley this low MPG made the computer think that was your typical MPG therefore calculating the 3XX distance range. After driving on the highway a little bit though, your MPG will rise, and the 'distance till empty' will rise with it accordingly.....make sense???

I'm not the best at explanations, but I try. lol
