Front end Camber adjustment?

I just bought my 04 TSX, and when I test drove it I didn't notice that it needed a front end alignment... (my mistake).

So, I drove it to Midas today and had them put it on their machine and they look some numbers, my right front wheels is -0.5 degrees camber, and 3.13 degrees caster angle (which is perfectly within spec) but my left front wheel is +1 degree camber and 2.5 degree caster.

My guess is the person who owned my car before me hit a curb pretty bad and might have bent an A-arm or possibly a control arm...

Apparently double wishbone suspensions don't allow for camber adjustment?

If they don't, then something has to be bent up front, should I bring it to an acura dealer to get it looked at or would a body shop be able to tell me what the problem is?

I believe a body shop would be able to tell pretty easily also.

The TSX's front suspension does not allow for castor nor camber adjustment. You can get Spoon A-arms that will allow you to adjust the front camber though. But they are not cheap. Best to get the dealer to cover it. Do you find the TSX pulling to the driver's side on its own?

The dealer I bought it from isn't going to cover it (honda dealer), they said its not their problem (and I am out of warranty, and I am sick of dealing with them)

Am I right to assume that I probably have a bent A-arm?

The car is completely drivable, its just annoying as hell lol

The left upper control arm #6, left knuckle arm, #3 in the first pic , and/or the lower control arm #7 in the second pic could be the problem. Another possibilty is a faulty alignment readout (it can happen), which can be verified by going to another alignment shop.

Alright, the Carfax report on my car is completely clean... so this next thing I found scares me...

When I took off my left front wheel this morning to check out the suspension and the possibility of installing a ingalls front camber kit to correct my problem... I noticed that if you look through the wheel well towards the radiator, the box section beam that runs directly behind the radiator is deformed in 2 spots, and when the beam section ends up welding into another section, the profiles don't match...

I am pretty sure my car was in an accident

Alright, I have decided to get a camber kit to fix my problem (and I don't care much about my barely off caster angle)

so basically I want this
http://iapdirect.com/product.php?pro...cat=352&page=1

I never plan on lowering my car, this is obviously just to fix my problem... what tools will i need to do this myself?

You need a ball-joint separator to remove the existing ball-joint from the knuckle arm. Then you need a ball-joint press set to remove the ball-joint off the control arm and install the adjustable camber kit.

You may want to write to Honda and Acura (USA) and basically retell the story that you've told here. Be sure to let them know how disappointed you are with the treatment you received from the dealer and because of that how unlikely it is you'll be buying another Honda product. Feel free to also mention that you'll tell the story to anyone that will listen that is considering a Honda automobile. I've found the Honda in particular is very sensitive to how their dealers perform. You might get lucky and get a call asking what they can do to make your car right.

Has anyone done a write-up for this?

There seem to be a lot of write up for other hondas, but none of them are ball-joint type camber kits, they all seem to replace the mounting points for the upper a-arm, but on the TSX you can't adjust the camber this way.

Also, do I need to rent a spring compressor for this? It would seem to me that with the ball joint type you need to take out the spring and shock assembly, am I correct?

No because the springs are held to the shock by the upper mount.

Are you sure you got the kit for the front? If so, why? If I recall properly, more than one vendor here has claimed there's no need for the front kit, since front camber is adjustable from the factory.
