Just had my Satin Silver 2004 TSX into Palm Beach (FL) Acura for the second time with the NOISY door panel trim. Let me just say that this dealer is FIRST RATE and FIRST CLASS. They spoke to the Acura Technical HOTLINE and they ARE working on a FIX for this problem, since so many TSX's have this problem. However, there is no recommended FIX at this time - nor parts, etc. to resolve the problem. Said I would be notified by them or Acura when there is a resolution (FIX) available. So - rest assured - they know about the problem and are working on a fix! Be patient - be kind to your dealer! And keep the faith! Otherwise this is an awesome vehicle & product. Thats interesting, and definately positive news. I have actually had my door panel rattle fixed by my dealer. I'm not sure how they did it, but everything seems to be ok now.

 

My latest Service visit to Acura dealership 2/9/04, 4th time for the same complaint:
I reported getting buzz noize from metal strip on both front door panels. Both front door silver garnishes rattling against door panel. DEALER: Removed driver's door and right front passengers door panels to access screws from silver garnish. Removed garnishes and installed foam tape between door panels and garnishes. Re-installed left and right front door panels. GUESS WHAT? - problem still there! SUBSEQUENT call from Acura Customer Relations - in CA. Because I had written them a letter about this problem. They ADMITTED that they are aware of the problem on the TSX and that "their engineer's are working on it." Told me to stay in touch with the dealer and they would expect, at some point a TSB to be issued. I guess it will take some time. I won't hold my breath - for sure. The dealer has gone above and beyond to fix. But they are just grasping at straws at this point. It's the ONLY complaint I have about my TSX. I will keep the post posted.

 

Does it make the rattle during driving or only when you hit bumps or rough road?

 

It's a vibration thing - can be caused by a truck going by - crossing a RR track. BUT it's always evident with radio/stereo on and various frequencies.

 

I have vibrating/buzzing noise that seems to be coming around the steering wheel. Wonder if that's what I'm hearing.

 

I just noticed the same thing on my car on the driver's side at certain frequencies. Cracking the window a couple times made it a little bit better, but it's still there. Quite annoying.

 

All you can do, to isolate the problem, it to hold your finger(s) on the end of the aluminum trim (towards the rear of the vehicle) and see if the noise stops. Then you'll know. Again, according to Acura Customer Relations (1-800-382-2238) they are aware of the issue and are expecting a TSB at some point. I'd advise you to also complain, maybe we can light a fire under them! Call them and write a letter!
