HI EVERYBODY FROM SPAIN.I HAVE AN 2003 ACCORD 2.0(THE ACCORD IN EUROPE IS LIKE THE TSX IN U.S).
DOES ANYONE WHEN TO DO VALVE CLEARANCE?.
MY OWNERS MANUAL SAYS EVERY 45000 KILOMETRES BUT IN THE CIVIC SI WITH THE SAME ENGINE SAYS 110.000 MILES(ABOUT 177000 KILOMETRES)

The 2.0 litre engine is not the same as the one in the TSX. We've got the 2.4 litre engine over here. The 2.4 litre needs to have the valve clearances inspected at 110,000 miles/176,000KM. I have no idea what the 2.0 litre would be but 45,000KM sounds way too frequent.

EDIT: I just noticed that in the maintenance schedule for "Severe Conditions" the valves should be checked at 20,000 miles/32,000KM! That's quite a difference in schedules. They basically are saying that the valve clearances need to be inspected yearly.

 

Thank you Dan.Here we got too the 2.4 litre engine and is almost the same engine.Both are k20a type.
The differences are internals,but if you see both engines you can`t differentiate one and other.For example the exhaus sistem is the same,filters...
What i don`t understand is why are maintenance intervals different for U.S or Europe if engines are the same.

 

What are you looking at? My manual says 176000km (or "if noisy") for both severe and normal conditions.

 

Helms manual section 3-5 and 3-6.

Edit: I'm on crack.... I should have gone to section 3-8!
