Exclamation EuroR Valve Cover Install Question (Title Edited by Mod)

Well it has been a week now since I installed my Euro R Valve cover. I absoluetly love it by the way. Since I am a perfectionist, one thing that is bothering me is that I could not remove these two bolts from the original cylinder head cover.
Before:

In efforts to minimize my contribution to the stealership at all cost (unless I have exhausted all possibilities), I don't know if those of you who replaced your valve cover simply removed them from the original one or took the hit and purchased them from the stealership; but Acura Del Rey lists these bolts at $2.42.

In this diagram #12 and #14 is the one I am having problems removing.

After:

Thanks,

Charles

Exactly they should come right off. Unscrew #14 first and removed the spark plug cover then use the same size socket and removed #12. You're done. Remember though when unscrewing them back don't tighten them to much or you might pop them right off. I would reccomend tighten them by hand that's what I did to mine and no problem.

Maybe its me but for some reason the freakin bolt won't come off... I'm twisting w/ a socket wrench on the #14 nut and using a size 10 wrench on the #12 bolt, but to no avail. I think I'm gonna leave it the way it currently is. Thanks LITO and JTSO.

that happened on the 2 valve covers I installed. you have the right idea w/ the socket and wrench. just keep tugging, it should come off w/ a ton of force

Hmm.. maybe it's sort of stck on there. Maybe try to get something to loosen it up before you go at it. Or... try a cheater/breaker bar? I've got one of those, works like a charm and very useful for almost everything i do.

Thanks Xizor, I'm probably going to try to lube it up first and go back at it tommorrow morning. I take it you get the gist of what I'm saying, cause it's a pain in the a$$ to remove.

kboosman00, you have a great thread with details and explanation, but you're snuffing the interest with the most anonymous title.

Make sure your title is descriptive of your topic. You have A) more interest from the people browsing, and B) a thread that will be easily found when performing a search.

A little effort on the title can sometimes be 10x rewarding.

BTW, I've edited your title.
