Engine Shaking Issue

Hey guys, I have been having a problem with my engine recently. I have a K&N Cold Air Intake and a Skunk2 Catback, everything else in the engine is stock. When the car is in either neutral, park, or reverse the engine is fine. But when the engine is warmed up and in drive the entire engine shakes all the way back to the tips of the exhaust. BUT the shaking of the engine doesn't shake the car or anything WEIRD. I get an occasionally misfire if I hit the gas at a certain point when the RPMs are going down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Are you getting a check engine light ?
my guess is the O2 sensor or the spark plug/coils going bad....but you should have the check engine light codes read....

no, I'm not getting any codes or a check engine... I'm pretty sure I have had this problem before the modifications.

have you noticed a decrease in fuel economy? It sounds like you're running rich, likely due to a malfunctioning O2 sensor. Your first check should be the spark plugs. If they're black or wet, you're running rich. If they're white, the mixture is fine.

Engine Shake.

I'm not a mechanic but I had a similar problem. My engine would shake out of control when I was in drive and stopped at a red light. Once I started moving the shaking stopped. I brought it to the dealership and ended up getting the engine mounts changed. No more shaking. I have an 2004 TSX stock. 162,000 miles.

If the engine shaking is not shaking the cabin, I'd suspect the motor mounts are bad. The motor mounts connect the engine to the frame, so you should be feeling something. It sounds like the engine is shaking, along with whatever parts are connected to it (header, to catalytic converter, to exhausts). All of those parts are attached to the car by hangers, so they can freely shake without shaking the car.

Check your front motor mount. Suggest that to your shop.
