ok well today i notive on my way home from school that my engine was shakin too much, i use to feel it but i never gave any atention to it until today i just got tired of it. i remember when i bought the car used an 04 tsx with 30k and i remember i open the hood n put my hand on the engine as it was running and it was so nice and no kinda of shake now it has 67k and i put my hand on the engine as the car was running and engine was shacking too much i was wondering what do you guys think it is..it would help alot if i get some feed back on this..because is coming to a point that i want to get rid of the car but i love my tsx black on black hehe...so maybe i need to tight some stuff or idk..plzz help!

 

Honda's have a rough idle. Mine's pretty noticeable when I'm stopped at a light or just sitting in a parking lot.

Used to bother me, but not anymore.

Now if it's excessively bad shaking, then I'd take it in to have it looked at.

 

possible spark plug gapping.

take out the plugs and check the gap on each one.

 

yea the samething happens to me, like i stop at the red light n the car just shakes my girlfriend has a 04 accord coupe...and they kinda the same when it comes to engine i guess..and her car has 4k more miles then mine...and why doesnt that happend with her?..see that is wats bothering me...same year and kinda basicly same car..and why does a tsx has more lil problems like that?..shouldnt a tsx be a higher better HONDA?...just like toyota and infinity? i just hope nothing really wrong with the car..i mean i never got a engine light or no other like mechanical problem with the car..just engine is shakin more then when i first got it. and acura suppose to be good cars and last for like 130k or more so how would that car be when it hits 100k?..thats what im worry about

Toyota and Infinity are not the same company.

Toyota makes Lexus.

Nissan, Infinity.

Honda, Acura.

VW, Audi.

etc, etc.

 

Since day 1 my car has had a rougher idle than I'd like...but I've come to terms with it as other TSXes I've driven are the same, as well as other Acuras & Hondas that I've driven/ridden in. Even the '07 TL loaner with 11k miles on the clock that I'm driving right now has a rough-ish idle that reminds me of my TSX.

It's never changed, and any day now I'll have 90k on my TSX.

So...I'd say to not worry about it.

 

also - quit using shitty gas. use chevron/shell/even costco over places like maverik, etc. i would suggest getting some fuel injector cleaner because everyone is putting discount gasolines into their tsx's. I've noticed a substantial difference when i stopped using the shitty gas stations trying to save a few pennies. Our 25-30k TSX's are not worth hurting to save a buck.

 

Also, check your battery. Make sure everything is tight and check to see if your battery is still charging and not just running from the alternator.

 

well thanks guys for that....yesterday i had to go to the dealer to buy some clips for the cover that is under the car like under the engine..and i asked one of the guys there..why is my tsx engine shacking 2 much n he said..put some dry gas in it..that it will help..well MIGHT help he said...so my question is ..wat in the world is dry gas?...anyone know wat is that and is it gonna kill my car or something..plus im still in love with the TSX!!!!!!!! ok let me kno DUDES
