Engine noise today
My 07 TSX is starting to implode on it self. So this morning on the way to work I started hearing a noise similar to this. Keep in mind though my car is pretty much stock with the exception of the front pads and rotors.
On top of that the airbag light came on for a few seconds which seems to be an issue with the seat belt buckle. It went away after a few seconds.
Anyone know of what that noise is? It seems to make it only while the car is stopped or close to stopping. I'll check the oil level later this afternoon as well.
Thanks,
Nick

The only difference this time over the previous was I was on ramps where before I did it at my dad's shop. He sold it back in January so the ramps are the only thing I have now.
I just wonder if my other issue with what I suspect is an internal failure with the axles has somehow damaged something in the transmission. I will also check fluid levels of both the transmission and oil before I leave work today.

Update:
I checked fluid and transmission was ok. Oil needed about 1/2 quart. When I started it I had a bit of trouble cranking it but was able to make it home. Upon trying to start it at home it won't crank and hear the dreaded clicking noise. The battery is 3 3/4 years old. I check the voltage and it was holding at 12.5 amps. Should I try to charge the battery and see if it cranks with a replacement after that or just get it replaced? I bought an OEM so I think it is covered for 100 months.

several questions:
1) Is the noise louder by the front driver's side wheel than it is by the passenger side front wheel while the automatic transmission is in the parked position?
2) With the car on, do you hear the noise while the automatic transmission is in park or neutral? If you put your foot on the brake and switch the transmission to drive, does the noise disappear (while your foot is on the brake and the car is stationary)?

Get back to us. I have information for you. I have a 2005 Acura TSX with an automatic transmission with this same sound.
Replaced the battery this afternoon and went around the block. All is good so far. Very odd that noise could be due a failing battery. If anything changes I will let everyone know. Thanks for all of the troubleshooting.

I'm no mechanic. But no way in hell that I would have think the battery was the issue. Glad you got it sorted out because a transmission problem would have been a major headache to pinpoint.
