engine light issues

I have a 2004 TSX with 78,000 klms. The engine light came on and then checked and tightened the gas cap. As the light did not go off, went to the dealer about 3 -4 days later. They reset the light service comments were :

"data retrieve PA200 A/F sesor performance checked connector and sensor, cleared and drove code did not reappear"

That evening after the service and reset, the check engine light came back on. I went back to the dealer and they said that a new sensor was required to the tune ~ $300.

I am trying to determine how common this problem is, in that the sensor must be replaced. I would be interested in hearing from all of you that have had the sensor or related components replaced. What was the milegae or age and what other components required replacing. I have read a whole bunch of posts that state that about reseting the code and oxygen sensors etc that need to be replaced. Any information you have would be appreciated.

Does any one have a copy of or access to the technical service bulletin referenced as: SN050312 March 2005 Engine Controls - clearing DTC's

The correct code is P2A00. It sounds like the dealer did everything by the book test driving and clearing the code. If the same code comes back, then the primary O2 sensor needs to be replaced. O2 sensors do go bad and it's a commonly replaced item. You can get the factory replacement from http://www.acuraparts247.com for about $220.

I think sauceman had his O2 sensor replaced. Perhaps he can tell you how long the original sensor last.
