Last week, after getting gas for my car, i noticed that the MID displayed "Emissions System Check" My car already has 60000 miles in it and so my assumption is that my car is telling me i need that 60k tune up. Are my assumptions correct or is it something more serious? I NEED HELP!

Try tightening the gas cap 3 clicks and give it a few days to go away. If not, then you'll need to call your dealer. It's not a warning for a 60k mile service.
