Electrical noise at start
Electrical noise at start
I have a 2006 TSX 47K miles and I noticed sometimes when I turn the ignition key just before it's about to start I hear like a electrical zzzzzzzzzzzzzz noise has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned?
Does the noise appear to be coming from the rear of the car or the engine compartment? The only 'normal' noise I can think of that you might be hearing would be the fuel pump, and it would sound like its coming from the rear of the car.
I recently got an 08 and also have that noise everytime I turn the key to the "on" position and leave it there before engaging the starter. I can't really pinpoint where it's coming from, but it sounds like the front passenger side. Once I left my car out overnight in -20C weather, when I went to start it, the noise was very pronounced... and my "check brakes" warning came on right after I started it (went away after maybe 10s or so though).
Finally I'm not the only one experiencing this noise, for me it sounds like it's coming from the steering column area, I still have an extended warranty left going to get it checked out when I have time.
It is the ignition switch. It doesn't do it all the time right? Maybe 1 out of every ten starts or less?
