DTC: P2183 and P0111 - Problem Solved
2007 TSX with 43k miles. Dreaded Check Emissions System message pops up intermittently. Clear the code, be fine for a while, then comes back again. Since it didn't do it every time, I guessed a bad connection at the sensor.
Code is P2183 and P0111 - IAT sensor and Engine Coolant Temp Sensor 2 Performance issue.
Since my car is out of warranty, taking it to the dealer probably will be fatal on my wallet, so I decided to attempt the job myself.
After breaking several plastic push pins for the underbody panels, I manage to get this stupid sensor out. It is on the driver side, lower radiator, next to the lower radiator hose. You need a 17MM flex head wrench to get this out. I had my car on Rhino ramps, and that was sufficient.
Part cost $39 from Autozone but takes it down a little after a mail in rebate.
I also invested in some flex head wrench set for this job. I had socket wrenches, but one was too tall, (hits the engine cradle) and other was too short. (hits the plastic socket on the sensor) I guess investment for future jobs..
Here is the bad sensor. This one controls the radiator fan. If this one is bad, the radiator fan will not kick on unless you turn on AC.

I look inside the socket and I see some white stuff.
Corrosion basically tore one of the pin off inside the socket.

Put some dielectric grease inside the connector to prevent future issues like this.
So if you get these diag trouble codes, chances are that it is this sensor, which corrodes inside the socket very easily.
Don't go to the dealer unless you have to. (unless if it is like engine swap or something big)
PS: I think P0111 was set since there was a mismatch in reported values between the ECT sensor and IAT sensor.

I kept tripping these messages and the dealer told me my coolant sensor was working perfectly and they inspected it and was fine. Since my code was related to VTEC engagement they noted that the car was a quart low on oil (my car seems to burn oil or some reason even though I never see smoke, but I suppose it could be rings or something?) so they added a quart of shitty Honda oil and charged me $126 for something I was already doing myself. Damn dealers.
