Car is starting to no shift from Park position. What's going on?

2004 TSX auto 120k

My car is starting to not shift from the Park position to drive (shifting left to right).
It works some times and at times I have to try several times before the shifter moves to the right.

What can be causing this?

Forgot to mention the "VSA" light is on and won't turn off.

does it shift out of park when you remove the little shift plate tab and stick a screwdriver down in there? Also If you listen real close, maybe just with the key in the on position and the engine not running, hit the brakes and see if you can hear the little plunger solenoid click. When you hit the brakes it should activate which will allow you to move the shifter around. If you hear this then the sytem is working properly and you'll need a new shifter assembly mechanism. good luck
