Driver seat moves

My driver's seat seems to move from time to time - it feels almost as if the seat is slipping on the gears for seat adjustment. I've changed the seat position (i.e. forward, back, up and down) and it does not quite seem to work.

Granted, I autocross (not the TSX) and I'm used to a solid seat for "spirited driving", but this moving is sometimes unnerving.

Anyone else experience this movement??

Thanks!!

Yes... well known issue. You will ultimately need new seat rails, but the dealership will try to "tighten" the bolts.

Common problem... I have had my seat rails replaced once before, that was about 6 months ago. The problem has come back, I took my car into the dealer a few weeks ago and they couldn't duplicate the problem, so they wouldn't do anything.

Thanks for the assist - didn't know it was a well known problem. I'll contact my friend at the local Acura dealership.

Yup. I had the problem. It persisted for about a year until I had the dealer fix it under warranty a few months ago. They had to special-order some parts, and it took a few weeks in my case.

Mine's a 2004 model. Let's hope that newer models don't have that problem.

Sorry, I don't recall. I just hope that whatever parts they installed are better than the original parts--you know, that reputation for "ongoing improvements" that some vaunted Japanese automobile manufacturers have? Otherwise, we would be chasing our tail with defective or weak designs...

I'll keep a look out for the work order.

I have the same problem... the dealer 'couldn't duplicate' the problem either. Guess i have to go back and keep complaining.

They ordered the seat rails when I had the problem the first time.

They ordered a new seat base and rails for me, but 4 months later I get a slight movement side-to-side on sharp (sudden) corners, or in transitions like you'd find on a slalom type course (tight traffic circles, for example).

My guess is that the new base/rails suffer the same problem as the "old" style ones, if the new base/rails were even redesigned to begin with.
