Door Lock Actuator Replacement.

Hello All,

The door lock actuator went out on my 07 TSX with 52k miles, and I was just wondering what people have been paying to have this repaired from Acura?

Also, I think I will go to Honda instead, since they're always cheaper. Will the Honda techs know how to do this repair, or am I better off going to Acura?

Thanks!

acura/honda dealers will charge u about $120-$160 for labor + the cost for the actuator... you can pick up the part for $15-$30 just about anywhere... its not that bad to replace yourself. here'e a diy thread... https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-problems-fixes-128/diy-how-replace-front-power-lock-actuator-690275/

I know!! Mine definitely hasn't been as problem-free as yours! Have you had to get a door actuator replaced yet?

I found some DIY's - I'm going to give it a shot before taking it into Honda

no-hoping it continues to work (knock on wood) still on the original brakes.

Both the front door lock actuators of mine went kaput. I went to the junk to get some and they wanted like $60-$70 each per side. I was like what? The dealer sells them for $35 each brand new. They are the exact same ones as the 7th gen accords.

I suggest before you do the work buy the bushings;

right and left bush joints about $6 each retail. These bushes connect the door locks to the handle. To change the actuators you have to remove the metal link from the handle but 9/10 when you remove it the bush will break if the the car is old and plastic is brittle.
