Door/Dash Gap too wide?

Hi... I was at the Acura dealership today and was checking out the TSX. I noticed that the driver side door/dash gap (next to the vent) was a lot wider than the passenger door/dash gap. You can kinda see between the gap on the driver side and it would seem like defective workmanship. I checked 2 other TSXs on the lot and it was the same thing. Does anyone notice this as well? Either way, I still left a deposit for a silver ebony TSX.. heh... heh...

Both gaps are WIDE. but one is not bigger than the other. It just looks that way when sitting in the drivers seat (because of the angle you are looking at it). Thats how it is in my car anyways.

I hope it was just a fluke on the ones I saw. I actually sat on both driver and passenger side to make sure. I first noticed it when I was sitting up front, I looked in that area and I thought I didn't close the door enough.. so I opened it and shut it tight but it still has that big gap. I went to the passenger side and the fit is a lot thinner. The comparison would probably be about .4 inch gap on the driver and .2 inch gap on the passenger side.

I have the same problem. I don't think its a problem with the door not being installed properly I think they made an error in the size of the dash or door mouldings. It is annoying to look at though and very un Honda like. And the gap in the passenger side in my car is definently not as big as the driver's side.

I'm gonna have to check mine too -- I assumed it was just the angle that made one gap look bigger.

Doesn't really bother me, but I seem to remember reading some TSX literature a while back, discussing the very small tolerances for seams etc. -- hmmmm...

Oh, and this is another thread I wish I had never read -- I don' t think I would have noticed anything wrong in the first place :P

On my old Accord there was quite a bit of vertical mismatch between the door and dash on the driver side vs the passenger side. The TSX does have a rather large gap there, but on mine at least, the gap is the same on both sides. If it wasn't, I would have noticed immediately. I'm rather obsessive about visual symmetry.

me too.... remember that commercial when lexus came out with the silver metal ball rolling down the gaps to show how detailed the fit and finish was? ha.ah.. i think ive been brainwashed thinking premium cars should have that standard. i expect gaps and mismatches with a cavalier or neon but definitely not an acura.

I noticed the gaps as well this past weekend when i saw a brand new, just off the truck PWP TSX. Gap was larger on driver side than passenger. Looks like QC needs to work a little overtime.
