Curious about inspecting fuses and 2004 TSX A/C…
Hi,
2004 Auto/Navi TSX. Never had cause to check engine compartment fuse box before. Some fuses pulled out to check, displayed a brownish toning in an arc pattern covering the top parts of the two insertion pins (curving up one and down the other like a rainbow interrupted in the middle). They were not blown. Is this normal?
Reason checked fuses is A/C intermittently blew ambient temp air rather than cool (both auto and manual A/C). It seemed shutting the engine off and restarting - sometimes - got it to cool. So looking here, the simplest things to check first were the fuses (and maybe swap relays).
Funny thing is - the A/C has run cool since pulling those related fuses out and pushing them back in. Nothing else was done. Problem was intermittent, so could it be coincidence, or a contact thing, or ?
Thanks for any comments.

Another person had an intermittent AC relay, also in the under hood fuse box. Check for loose relay or intermittent relay (swap w/ similar relay in fuse box and see if problem is relieved).
Also can be an intermittent AC clutch caused by excessive clutch gap. Fix is to remove clutch plate, remove shim from beneath clutch plate, and reinstall. Access to compressor may be challenging w/o discharging system, but probably possible.
good luck

Thanks for the info. So far still working - always the problem with an intermittent problem. Been researching the relays just in case. Surprising to me, the more robust (expensive) replacement relay some threads recommend seems to be priced at the local Acura/Honda dealer similarly to online stores. Unfortunately dealing with the clutch is beyond my experience.
