Cross country in 2004 TSX...

I am moving to Florida from San Diego for 4 months and I want to drive in my TSX AT no navi with 123k, dark tinted windows... I have the option to drive my mom's 2007 Civic sedan w/navi only 23k and no tint(I would prefer tint to hide all the stuff I'm bringing cross country)....Pros of her car is navi, regular gas, better gas mileage, aux hook up, and its new, so its probably more trustworthy... but I really wanna take my TSX!

My question is what should I do to my TSX before I go to make sure I can rely on it... I've had it for 1.5 years and already got a new cat, new starter, transmission leak fixed, new spark plugs, coolant flush, power steering pump(replaced it for $150 three days before the recall came out!!). About to put a new drive belt and adjust my valves with my dad. I am also planning on buying new tires before I go. The person who had it before me did NOT take care of it, it was a repo and Acura sold it at auction. She lived in the desert and honestly it was in horrible condition when I got it... Got it wholesale from my work, that's how I know all this info.

Advice please!

Other things I can think of besides what you've said so far are oil and filter change, inspect brake rotors & pads and replace if needed. If you've got a smart phone, Google Maps is a free alternative to a GPS (i.e. Garmin).

I usually check wheel alignment, balance tires, rotate (if needed), and check the spare tire. I also take some cheap gloves, flashlight, and a very large black trash bag (for wet ground or very dirty tire) if you have to change a flat.

Other traveling items:
new windshield wipers
windshield wiper fluid that is good for well below freezing
new cabin air filter
new engine air filter
tire gauge
check battery at Interstate or Sears to make sure it is A-OK if the battery is over 3 years old
Take a quart of oil just incase.

I would upgrade your auto insurance to include towing and car rental car. You can always delete it when you reach Cali.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice! Do you happen to know if the 04 TSX has a fuel filter or anything of that sort that ever needs to be changed?
