Coolant Container Rattles
Coolant Container Rattles
Ok when I stop my car at a red light I hear this rattling (not that loud, but I can hear it) comming from the engine. At first I thought it was the engine that's acting up. But today while checking my car's engine, I notice it's the coolant container that's making the noise. There are 2 bolts that's holding the container on top, but the noise come from the bottom of the container getting in contact with the section in front of it. The 2 bolts on top is very tight so it's not the bolts. If I shake it back and forth, it will create a little rattle noise I experience during stops.
I think if I can get something to put in between it the noise will stop, but it seems like very hard to get down there, and I don't know what can stick in there. Does anyone hear this little rattling during stop with the radio off? It doesn't happen all the time, but when it comes on it's very annoying bc it makes my car sounds old.
Any recommendation how to fix this?

I got this fixed today. I removed the top 2 bolts and pulled the container out. At the bottom of the container there is a piece of plastic sticking out to put it in a hole at the bottom to keep the container in place. Well the hole is a little bigger than the plastic piece of the container so when my engine shake, the container moves and create this little rattling noise.
I used some black tape and wrapped the plastic piece at the bottom of the container up to make it bigger, and stick it back in the hole. Now I'm noise free! It feels so good when I'm in my car now. It sounds like a brand new car.
I also changed the coolant while at it, and I think my engine perform way smoother!
I love it!
