Clutch Problem (and many more) in 2005 6MT

This is my second post on the squeaky clutch on my 10,000 mile old 6MT.

- Taken to the dealership 2wice and the put some lubrication; the squeaks came back in a day
- It squeaks only when the clutch is released, and des not happen all the time; may be 8 out of 10

TXS requires frequesnt gear shifts, and this squeak acts like a shiver up my shoes. Don't know what to do, I am very very disappointed with the car, and all the problems are related to rattles, noices and squeaks; this one being the latest entry in my book. ( I have a rattleing trunk, a rattle in sun roof, one in the passenger seat, a few really annoying ones on my windshield even after replacing the windshield, the driver seat has lateral movement on sharp turns, one of my wiper blades moves with a mild grinding noice creating a beautiful arch of water streaks)

I dont know who to complain. My dealership is fine, all their people are nice and ready to help.... BUT my rattles and squeaks keep on increasing. I waste my and their time...

Can anyone tell me how much this car will be worth; 2005 6MT and about 10K miles if I choose to sell it...

Thanks.

Kelly Blue Book is your friend.

As for your issues, we all have had them (or some part or none at all) and all are capable of being fixed by the dealer. I've had many rattles and such, but I've also accepted one fact, this car has 1 safety recall... for a wire to a taillight... whoopie shyt! Everycar has its annoyances. Either take it to the dealer and have them fixed, try a different dealer, or sell the car... not much else you can do.

-Have you looked at the windshield rattle master thread? I think the fix was on the outside of the car, and it didn't involve removing the window. There was a TSB issued for it too.
-I had the drivers seat issue, but all the dealer had to do was replace the floor rails and it has been 100% for the last 2 years.
-The sunroof rattle is easily fixed with a little silicone spray around the rubber gasket. This same trick works for the other window squeaks too.

But if these things are too much to handle, sell the car and get something you'll be happy with. Life's too short to be woried about something as silly as a car.

sorry to hear about the problems. like mentioned previously, we've all had them, ive had all of your problems except for the windshield rattle in my 04. considering no car is perfect, all cars that i know have their share of issues. as for the clutch, it does get better after awhile, and it wont annoy you, ive had the same prob for over 2 years. as for the rattles, some dynomat in the doors works wonders, for the sunroof, the dealer can put antirattle foam that pretty much stopped it for me. i had all these problems initially, but almost 3yrs later, none. this forum is really helpful if you look through, and you'll find a solution to solve your rattle problems.

I agree with Dan though, its your money, get the vehicle that makes you the most happy

The clutch problem can't be fixed with lube. In Australia, we were given the lube first. After that it still squeaked and they finally approved a clutch master cylinder replacement and that fixed it.

I totally understand your dilemma, man.

I'm beginning to feel stupid every time I bring my TSX in to get these minor issues rectified. The service department does a great job fixing what they can but I hate having to worry about the car, not to mention wasting time.

If you're willing to take the financial hit, go for another car. Otherwise, watch out for joerockt...cause it seems he totally loses it when people talk shit about the TSX.

How long has it been since it was replaced? Did the squeaks come back?

I've been experiencing the clutch problem as well. It's not so bad on some days, but drives me nuts on others. I wonder if Acura has identified a root cause and created a TSB yet?

I replaced it 1 year ago, in January 2005. It's been fine ever since. I first got the squeak in November 2004, and I had purchased my car in October that year! There is a Honda TSB, but it covers Accords, Civics, everything else except the TSX. But it is essentially the same problem, and the year of the models affected goes all the way back to 1994 (i think)

What is interesting is that is the part number replacing the defective master cylinder is used on the 05 TSX, so I'm assuming the defective one is on the 04s. I'm looking up that part number now.

Part Number in the Honda TSB: 46920-S7A-A02
Part Number for the 2004 TSX: 46920-S7A-A01

Looks like those of use with 2004s should have the issues and this clutch MS is also shared with 04 TLs and 02-03 RSXs

I have an '04 with 45,000 miles and the clutch squeak/click is getting real bad. I had an '89 Nissan 240SX and had to replace the master clutch cylinder 3 times and slave cylinder once. I can't believe I'm having the same problem on an Acura.
