Clutch Creak

Im having a problem with my clutch (i think)

when i push the clutch in, or let it out there are like 2 spots where i can feel a "creak" or a "notch" for lack of better explanation. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT IS RAINING OUT. I dunno what the heck is going on.

Clutch pedal is perfectly fine when its not raining.

There is no noise, no performance issues, just the feeling.

Anyone?

Sounds like either the master cylinder problem or the switches (ignition interlock and cruise control cutoff) are sticking a bit. There's a freaking huge thread on this issue.

I had the same issue. It's the master cylinder.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic. It will absorb moisture if exposed to it. It's possible (granted it doesn't seem likely) that's why it's happening.

Other than the getting worse in the rain part, the symptoms you are describing are dead on for the master cylinder though.

its not that it gets worse in the rain, it only happens in the rain, period.

Not to put you down, but I'd be willing to bet that it's "happening" all the time, you can just tell when it rains for some reason.

Basically what is happening is that as the piston is sliding in the master cylinder it's leaving deposits at one end. Well every so often the piston will get stuck on those deposits, hence the click.

It will get slightly worse over time. It's not damaging, just annoying.

I bought my car Mar '06, notice the click late that year. Early '07 I had it fixed (replaced master cylinder) and have not had any issues since.

Not sure if this is the same problem I have.. but the only way I can describe it is it makes this noise when I'm letting go of the clutch, it doesn't happen often.

Anyone have this same problem?

I had my master cylinder replaced a while ago while it was still under warranty because it was clicking. Since then, no clicks but lots of creaking, but only when it's damp or humid out. When I say creak I mean like the sound of wet sneakers on a linoleum floor or a squeaky door hinge.

I deal with it by greasing the clutch every so often.

And there are tons of threads on all of the clutch noises.

I have started hearing this same noise, too, but I'm assuming it is the clutch starting to slip a little (I have 117,000 miles on it). How many miles are you at?

I have about 96,000 KM's on my TSX, and the clutch functions with no problems, I put it in 6th gear and put my foot down at low rpm and it doesn't slip at all. I find it depends more on how I drive it, when the clutch and gas are parallel it makes that noise.. kinda hard to explain it but I just drive it better now and it doesn't creak that much now.

I've been researching this for the past few weeks and will be bringing it to a mechanic soon and hopefully they can diagnose this. The mechanics at Acura were completely useless.

That noise could be the throw out bearing.

I am not experiencing any noise at all, but i can feel it in my foot.

and it is 100% without the slightest doubt in the world only happening when it rains hard.

No clue what it is.

The mechanic at Acura couldn't figure out what the problem was, how would I bring up this as the source of the problem? I don't think they'll just take my word for it if I go and tell them it's the throw out bearing.. I'm assuming it's under warrantee
