Clunk noise over bumpy road.
Clunk noise over bumpy road.
I've had this problem for a while now.
But everytime i go over bumpy road, i get a clunking noise from the brake/wheel area. but if i apply the brakes just alittle bit, it goes away. Im at 47K and as far as i can remember, ive had it since i changed the brake pads at 35ish. and i checked it and everything seems to be on tight.
I had the dealers check it and blamed on the suspensions, tein SS.
Any ideas?

the sound is from the front of the car.
the SS does have the stock pillow mount, and that makes a slight noise, but its a different noise.
How do i check for worn camber?
but the noise is gone when i apply brakes even a little bit.

I'm not sure what he means by "clunk." I definitely hear something happining that is "clunk like" everytime I hit the big bump near the ramp onto the highway. I think it is probably the ABS. But, then again, unless we want to post .wav files, I guess there is no way of knowing if we are talking about the same sound.
If you follow the Tein SS instructions and set the front strut lower spring perch to 30mm from the reference mark, this is just about the lowest adjustment point with very little preload on the spring. If the car is lowered to the ground with this setting, the top of the dust boot is very close to the washer right above it. If you drive over speed bumps, the suspension compresses and the bump stop could come in contact with the washer and makes certain thumping sound, but not clunking. You can tell very easily by the mark on the washer. If you lower the car more, the car is essentially riding on the bump stop.

And the clunking is a different sound/issue.
