clicking noise under the hood
clicking noise under the hood
In the mornings, after turning on the car and changing gears to "drive", when I accelerate, I hear a clicking noise under the hood. It almost feels like a twig is caught beneath the hood, and is being dragged. After the car changes from 1st gear to the 2nd, everything is normal. This only happens if I turn on my car after leaving it off for a while. Is the phenomenon unusual?
Also, is it good to warm up the engine everyday before driving the car? If yes, does the engine have to be at a certain RPM before we know that the engine is sufficiently warmed up?
Thank you

Ah-ha! It may be the same problem I faced.

seinfeld, this could be the ABS doing its check. I get that on mine too and when I called in to the dealer they said it's perfectly normal. In my case it only does it once, as soon as I accelarate in the morning and I usually never heard it again while driving.
Hope this helps!

clicking noise under the hood
Thanks to iamhomin and carbongreytsx. I looked at the discussion you pointed me to, iamhomin. However, the symptoms seem to be different. I get this clicking noise even on a clear sunny day. I have another car with ABS, but that car doesn't have this clicking noise when I start. Could this be something else carbongreytsx?
Thanks
