my check engine light came on yesterday and i brought the car to get a scan done and it says that something is wrong with my o2 sensor. on the scanner it says bank 1 sensor 2 or something like that. anybody knows whats wrong.

^^Agreed. Need to understand more about the car, mods, etc. Could be a failed O2 sensor.

 

O2 sensors that trigger a CEL are almost certainly covered under the 8yr/130,000km emissions-equipment warranty.

Did the DEALER look at the code and leave you hangin'? I'd get it to an Acura dealer and have them warranty it, rather than paying for code reads, etc... yourself, unnecessarily.

Yes, get it scanned again. It should be under warranty. It is easy to clear the computer and make it look like the problem is fixed so ensure they rescan it and replace the part(s). That's an unusual problem unless you modified the car or did something 'stupid' to have at such low mileage/age.

 

well i was drivin kinda fast through a flood a couple of days ago.

 

Its jsut a little water in the system or check the gas cap.

I had that light come one everytime i fill up and not check the gas cap or something.

Maybe my cai was taking in a bit too much water up in buffalo?
no idea it goes away after a day or two.

 

I have Comptech H/E and RT Cat installed. after 3weeks or so, CEL came on code was 0420 the 02 sensor on the cat. triggered it. Got acura mech to scan, he saw everything was fine, a/f ratio fell within the limits. He reset it and after 2 weeks it came back on.

Now I am awaiting a brand new O2 sensor to come in to dealer and replace my old one under warranty.

If it still throws a CEL, it must be the RT Cat. I suppose.

 

I found out the shop that installed my headers actually fried my air fuel ration sensor. 277 bucks and the thing was striped of all its threading burnt on the inside.

Another shop got a new one for me and installed it, no check engine light after that.

So check that out pearlwhite05 if they installed your header that 277$ sensor might have been damaged.

 

ya eh, Dealer already ordered me the O2 sensor for the 2nd one, that goes into the CAT. the scan said that it was that O2 sensor that triggered the CEL. But no harm in checking

I keep getting a check engine light on mines after i install my dc sport headers. I did a reset and one week later its come back what could be the problem.
