CD Player Error after replacing car battery - Not a code issue, Help!
I replaced my TSX car battery and entered the NAVI and Audio codes. The Navi and radio work, but the CD player is completely unresponsive, except for displaying "CD-ERR". I spoke to the dealer, who said this can happen when a battery is changed or discharged, and that I should disconnect the wires, touch the positive and negative ends to hopefully "reboot", and reconnect the battery. This didn't work, and the dealer charges $90 just to provide an estimate. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks!

Summer is Coming
Boy I have never heard that one before. What year and with or without Navi? On page 22-285 of the 2006 service manual it shows how to do a self test of the system. Not sure what exactly it is testing but it looks mostly like the display. Fuse #5 (20A) is to the stereo amplifier. You can try to pull that and let it sit for a bit and reinsert. The book also shows these error codes:
DISC ERROR - Amazing it means there is a problem with the Disc player. Says a loose disc label could cause this error. Not sure how that would occur from changing the battery, but it says... remove the disc. Wow who would have thought of that? On the down side the only other suggestion is to replace the disc player.
ERR 1 - is when you put the wrong anti-theft code in the first time.
ERRE - is after the 10th time. Pull the fuse to get 10 more tries.
To enter the self-test... with NAVI
- Start with the unit in the Code Enter Screen. Not sure how to force that other than pulling the fuse.
- Key to I or II
- Power on the audio unit
- Push and hold "SEEK SKIP >>|" and the "CH DISC ^"
- While holding these push the "VOL push PWR" knob to ON
- Release the buttons and the self-test starts
- Press a pre-set button to run that test (not sure what this means, I guess something comes up on the screen)
- AM/FM Button turns on all LCD elements
- CD/AUX Button turns off all LCD elements
- Turn the radio off or shut off the ignition to stop the test
Without NAVI... same as above except...
- Push and hold "1" and "6" instead of SEEk SKIP and CH DISC
- and "3" turns on the LCDs, "4" turns them off.
I don't know if this applies to pre-2006 models.
Good luck.
