Question Can anyone diagnosis this problem??????

Just recently my engine check light came on and my immobilizer key light keeps on blinking. I can start my car and everything is running fine but I don’t know why this is happening. Does anyone know what’s wrong?

If you live near an AutoZone store, go borrow an OBD2 scan tool and retrieve the CEL code.

Well the CEL would need to be read with a scanner but a blinking immobilizer light means that the key isn't recognized, but since you can start the car, maybe it means there's a problem with the system? You do mean that it blinks constantly even when the engine is running, right?

If you're just talking about it blinking when you first turn off the car, it's designed to do so.

Hondata Please Read

So i finally took my car to Acura to get it diagnosised and they said that there was some error and the ecu and it has to be replaced! They are going to replace it under warranty but..... Now i'm out of a reflash! This ticks me off because basically i just wasted $600 .....do you think hondata will reflash my new ecu for free since they technically broke my ecu? I didn't really want to ask but Acura said that there was a signal error or something and was throwing a code that could not be fixed unless replacing ecu. Anyway I think i'll try and contact hondata about the situation.

If you haven't already replaced the ECU, just ask Hondata if they can replace it for you so you don't have to go through the dealer and Hondata. I guess if they broke it then they have to fix it. I'm sure they'll be reasonable and help you out. Goodluck

If hondata was nice, they 'could' reflash your ECU if you send them a copy of the ECU warranty exchange from Acura...they could but they don't have too.

*wink* *wink* Hondata
