A/C problem Consequence

Keeping in mind all of the problems with the AC, I was wondering what happens if you chose not to fix it? Besides the fact that you wont get cold air, does not fixing your AC affect anything else internally. Such as failing to control the temperature of the car. In other words, can I drive the car without fixing the AC and not worry about the AC causing other problems. (the weather is usually in the low 70's where I live)

I don't think it would affect anything else.

The A/C is a closed system. It's driven by the S-belt. Unless the S-belt gets damaged by the compressor clutch, the car should drive normally. Honda does recommend running the A/C for at least 10mins per week, even if it's cool outside. R-134 refrigerant does have a bit of lubricating oil in it which helps the moving parts in the A/C; so use it or lose it.
The heater core is in the glove box compartment.

I just figured that I don't really need it around here since it rarely ever gets over 80 degrees around here. It's also expensive to fix so I rather not make the expense. I'll most likely get it fixed down the line but for now, if I can go without it, this would be best.

Possibly. Besides the fact you won't have the ac to cool and dehumidify, by not running it you run the risk of damaging other components down the road. As Pacman said, the lubricating agents for the ac system are in the refrigerant. By not running it, you'll eventually rot out all the seals and possibly rot out the evaporator. About 2 months ago I wound up having to replace almost the entire system on a buddy of mine's Focus because he let it go for so long. What started out as a leak in the condenser turned into a condenser, evaporator, accumulator, compressor and 2 new lines. He let it go for 2 1/2 years by the way.

Without A/C you also don't have a very effective front defogger since the A/C is used to dehumidify the air.
