A/C blowing warm air
A/C blowing warm air
I've had my TSX ('04, SSM, 5AT Navi) for 1.5 years and have driven 32K miles. I love it and have had no problems with it, until the other day. After normal use I noticed that the climate control was not cooling the car. No matter what I did - lowering the temp all the way to "Lo", manually pressing the A/C button on the climate control - refrigerated air was not coming out of the vents.
I took it to an Acura Dealer for service today and was told that it contain too "much" coolant and the took out the extra. Hard to beleive since I drove the car off the lot and always maintained it well.
Anyway, after the work was completed I get into the car and it works great. 3 minutes or so into my commute home it starts blowing warm air again. I get off the highway and make a U-turn right back to the dealer to find that they all went home for the day. I sadly get back into my car, start the engine and it works great again, but only for a few minutes. This has been happening back and forth since.
Anyone had this issue? Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks.

Mini-rant: why do car dealers/mechanics, hell anyone associated with cars fucking lie to your face when they have no fucking clue? They don't even bat an eye, mutherfuggers.
Anyway, maybe it's a switch that has gone bad? Hope you get it fixed.
Just curious, in the 32k miles, you never had any rattles or any other issues?

The only issues I had were brakes and the rear harness recall. No rattles or such!

Walk around to the front of your car. Look at the condensor. Inspect for cracks caused by a foreign object piercing the surface, causing the refrigerant to leak out. If no damage is found, contact the service manager at the dealer you took the car to and (in a reasonable and respectful tone) explain to him/her what is going on and that you would like to seek a resolution.

Thanks everyone for your replies and suggestions. After taking it to a crappie Acura dealer I finally took it to Acura of Manhattan and within minutes they diagnosed the problem - which was a faulty relay. After evacuation and recharging the system; it now works fine.
I just bought an 03 Acura TL NAV. My horn and volume controls on the steering wheel works unpredictably. I've checked and bought a new horn relay but still the same. Anyone please help. Also does anyone know anything about why this car continuously blows out hot air? Even when my temp gauge says 60, I can't seem to switch it to cool air.
Most likely compressor is not engaging/compressing. Usual faults are leak that has lost refrigerant, excessive clutch gap, bad compressor relay.
Most AC shops will want to replace compressor and recharge system. Expect big bucks.
good luck
