Burning Smell
Hey guys, have you all ever smell some kind of buring from the engine after you have a trip on the highway w/ an average speed of 120 km/h? I dunno whether I am being palinode or there is a problem on my TSX. Do you guys encounter the same problem too???? I can't 100% sure whether it is a smell from the engine or what.... but I could smell it once I step off my car.

How new is your car? How many miles on it? If its brand new then the smell is common. Its all the plastics and lubricants being exposed to operating temperatures.

With 20K km it is definitely not the smell I was thinking of. Pop the hood and look under the car to see if you have any leaks. Maybe you ran over something and it splashed up on your exhaust system. If its nothing obvious like that then I'd have the dealer check it out.

i had this smell all along too, and i thought it was me riding the clutch/improper shifting techniques because this is my first M/T.
I recently notice that the smell has significantly reduced to a point that is almost completely gone/not noticeable. I'm at 32k km, and my clutch feels the same.

ummmm that will be interesting... ....... anyway... it is sitting in a dealership now to get all inspections to be done on the freaking smells, knocking noise from accelerating, and also rattling noise from the steering wheel... I hope they can find out the sources and get all problems fixed. I will be soooooo PISSED if not. God bless my babe!!!!

They say it is just the anti-rust agent sticking to the exhaust and once the car runs for a substantial period of time and it will started burning... the is basically the source.... they chk for leaking from the powertrain but nothing was found.... I guess I just buy whatever they quote....... oh well......
