Is this a Brake Rotor problem?

When I press on the brake pedal, the car seems to vibrate a little bit.

Do I need to replace my rotors? If so.. what brand is recommended? Thanks!

Have the discs resurfaced... not turned, but resurfaced. Usually involves having an abrasive discs taken over the surface of the rotors. We've found that the brake pads may be leaving deposits.

If that doesn't do it, then look into have the discs replaced.

If you do a search on brakes, you should find plenty of debate on this. I replaced my rotors, brake pads and stainless steel lines b/c I wanted more aggressive braking.

I too experienced this problem, and after a while there was a visible and tactile ring of brake material around the centre of the rotor surface.

I know many will advise against this but I simply replaced my OEM pads (3/4+ of material left) with some marginally better pads to abuse on the track.

In the short period that it took me to bed the new pads in (local street driving), I found that the new pads had removed the old pad material and smoothed the rotor surface to a nice shine, best of all the shudder/vibration was completely gone, and braking was good again.

How many miles do you have on your car? This has been reported/discussed a number of times. Brakes are a "wear and tear" items but Acura will take care of it under warranty if you don't have a lot of miles on your TSX.

Moda, how are you liking those brembo blanks? I'm close to upgraded and may go in that direction as well.

Just SLAMMED THEM HARD about 20 mins ago with a buddy in the car... they're awesome especially with the ceramic matrix pads. Now I just need my RSB to show up. I'm seriously considering putting the same pads on the rear now. They are more dirty than the OEMs, but they brake SO NICE and don't fad at all.

Raced the same guy through some country roads in his Teg GSR and he had terrible brake fad, me... I didn't even think about it.

Matell,

What brand/type of pads did you put on?

I heard someone taking a soft or high(number) sand paper and it removes brake pad debris.

also, my dealer told me that if the pads are worn down past 50% than then wont cover under warrenty.
another dealer would cover it.
so it really depends on the dealer.

About 6k miles. I'm rotating the ES100s every oil change, so I haven't looked at the pads and discs in 2k miles. Everything is still looking good and braking is awesome.
